Guide

PvP, PK and guild

How to create a guild, ranks and member limit, guild war, PK and how to clear it, duels and parties.

Guild

A guild is your permanent play group. Those with a guild play together and compete in the Castle Siege. In MU Unit there is no alliance: the guild is a single one, and the hierarchy lives inside it, through ranks.

  1. Reach level 100. Below that the NPC refuses and tells you that you're missing levels.
  2. Talk to the Guild Master NPC in a town. A guild can only be created there.
  3. Choose the guild name, 4 to 8 letters, and design the emblem.
  4. Confirm. Whoever creates it becomes the Alliance Master, the guild owner.

Creating a guild costs no Zen: what counts is the minimum level 100.

RuleAmount
Minimum level to create100
Guild name4 to 8 characters
Member limit40 without a Guild Master, plus 20 for each appointed Guild Master (up to 120 with 4)
Create guildallowed outside the Castle Siege war
Disband guildonly the Alliance Master, outside the war and with no Guild Master in the guild

The guild window (G) shows the member limit that applies to your guild. If the guild goes over the limit, nobody is kicked: it just cannot recruit until a slot opens. The guild mark (crest) can be changed at the Guild Master NPC, which accepts a 32x32 emblem with Import and Export; the change takes effect immediately for everyone online.

The guild that owns the Castle Siege cannot be disbanded while it holds the castle.

The /moveguild command, which would move the whole guild to a map, is turned off for players.

Guild ranks

RoleHow manyWhat it does
Alliance Master (AM)1The guild owner. Appoints and removes Guild Masters and Staff, declares guild war, registers the guild for the Castle Siege and registers the crown.
Guild Master (GM)up to 4Appointed by the AM, who writes a reason. Recruits, kicks and grants Vice GM and Battle Master. Each GM adds 20 member slots.
Staff1, plus 1 per GM (up to 5)Recruits and kicks members without a rank. Only the AM grants and removes it.
Vice GM1 per leader (the AM and each GM)Castle Siege rank. Only whoever granted it, or the AM, can remove it.
Battle Master (BM)3 per leader (up to 15 with 4 GMs)Castle Siege rank. Only whoever granted it, or the AM, can remove it.
Memberup to the guild limitPlays with the guild and uses its chat and voice.
  • Each person holds only one rank. If a GM loses the rank, the Vice GM and Battle Masters they appointed fall with them.
  • Anyone with a rank must lose it before leaving the guild. To leave, the AM hands the post to a guild GM, outside the Castle Siege, and becomes a GM.
  • The G window has 4 tabs: Guild, Members, Voice and Audit. On the Members tab you search, filter by rank or online status and see each member's resets. The Audit shows, for AM, GM and Staff, who did what in the last 90 days, with date, time and reason.
  • The @ chat talks to the whole guild. Every guild has the Main voice room, and those in the Siege have the Attack and Defense rooms.

During the Castle Siege war, nobody appoints, removes or kicks Guild Masters, and the AM cannot hand over the post. Staff, Vice GM and Battle Master can change at any time. Joining and leaving a guild remain allowed.

Guild War

Two guilds can challenge each other for an honor war. The command works in regular rooms. On the Castle Siege server, it does not work, nor in Chaos Castle, Illusion Temple and Silent. Battle Soccer is turned off on MU Unit.

CommandWhat it does
/war guild-nameChallenges another guild to a guild war
  • Only the Alliance Master can challenge.
  • The challenged guild's Alliance Master must be online with requests turned on (/re on) to receive the challenge.
  • A guild that is already at war won't accept another.
  • An Alliance Master with murderer PK (red) cannot declare war, and a guild whose owner is a murderer cannot be challenged.
  • Anyone in a guild war cannot duel.

PK: what it is and what happens

PK (Player Killer) is a player who kills other players who were not fighting them. The character's name changes color depending on the PK level.

StatusPK level
Regular player, no unfair killsNormal
1 normal player killPK level 1
2 killsPK level 2
3 kills or moreAssassin (red)
  • Killing a regular player who didn't attack you raises your PK.
  • Killing a 2nd-level PK or a murderer doesn't raise your PK.
  • If the other player attacked you first, you're defending yourself and don't get PK.
  • PK characters cannot enter Blood Castle, Devil Square, Chaos Castle, Illusion Temple, Doppelganger and Imperial Guardian.
  • 2nd-level and murderer PK cannot use /move or the mobility and resurrection talismans.
  • The Dark Lord's summon pulls the PK on any map. It is the way to bring a PK to a place they cannot reach on their own.
  • An Assassin cannot declare guild war.
  • In Room 1, for those with up to 50 resets, there is no PK or PvP.

Right now PK does not drop items on death, and shop and trade remain available to PK characters. Dying takes no experience or zen from anyone.

How to clear PK

There are two ways. The first is hunting: PK only goes down while you kill monsters. Each accumulated kill requires 30 minutes killing monsters, per PK level. The time only runs while you are hunting; stopping killing monsters for a few seconds pauses the count, and standing still or just being online does not count.

The second is paying. Talk to the Clear PK NPC, in Devias (225, 60), Lost Tower (187, 81) or Kanturu (66, 179). It clears up to 20 kills at a time, charging zen per kill. With more than 20, talk to it again to clear the next ones, or hunt monsters. The NPC stays in place. The /pk in chat is staff only: for players, it warns you in red where the nearest NPC is.

ItemAmount
Hunting30 minutes killing monsters per accumulated kill
Where to payClear PK NPC in Devias (225, 60), Lost Tower (187, 81) and Kanturu (66, 179)
Cost per accumulated PK kill100,000,000 zen
Per visitup to 20 kills; talk again to clear more
  • A PK with 1 kill pays 100,000,000 zen. With 3 kills, 300,000,000 zen.
  • Above 20 accumulated kills the server will not let you pay. You lower your PK by hunting.
  • Without the zen in your inventory, the NPC refuses and tells you how much is missing.
  • If you're not a PK, the server tells you that you're not a PK.

Duel

A duel is an agreed fight between two players. There is no arena: the duel happens right where you are.

  1. Send the duel request to the other player.
  2. They have to accept. Anyone with /re off declines the request automatically.
  3. First to reach 10 points wins.
  • The one who invites must be above level 50. The one invited must be at least level 50.
  • You can't duel in Blood Castle, Devil Square, Chaos Castle or Illusion Temple.
  • You can't duel during Castle Siege.
  • You can't duel during a guild war.
  • You can't duel if you or the other player are in self-defense after being attacked by a PK.
  • The CS Character does not duel.

Party

A party is a group of up to 5 players. Whoever hunts in a party shares the experience among the members.

  • The party request arrives as a window. To stop receiving requests, use /re off. To receive them again, /re on.
  • With /re auto password, party requests are accepted automatically from anyone with the same password.
  • In the Castle Siege, during the war, a party only works with players on the same side.
