Reset and points
How the point-based reset works: required level, Zen cost, points you earn, points cap and reset limit.
What is reset
Reset sends your character back to level 1 once you reach a minimum level, for a fee in Zen. In return, you get points to spend on attributes (Strength, Agility, Vitality, Energy and, for the Dark Lord, Command). The more Resets you have, the more points you get.
MU Unit uses the point-based reset: the points you receive depend on how many resets you've done. The limit is 200 resets per character.
The CS Character, the war character every account gets, doesn't reset. It's born ready and doesn't gain experience.
How to reset, step by step
- Level your character up to the level required for your number of Resets (see the table below).
- Gather the reset zen in your inventory. The amount is charged on the spot.
- Stand still, with no window open (such as trade), no personal shop, and not dead or teleporting.
- Talk to the Reset NPC: in Lorencia (121, 123) for Dark Wizard, Dark Knight, Magic Gladiator and Dark Lord, or in Noria (189, 127) if you are an elf. Premium players can also type /reset in the chat, from anywhere.
- Done: the character goes back to level 1 and is taken to a town. Now it is time to distribute the new points.
Premium players can leave reset on automatic: in the Auto UP window (F9), Reset tab, turn the option on and choose, for each attribute (Strength, Agility, Vitality and Energy), Fixed or %. Fixed is the final value of the attribute: the reset first puts the missing points into it. % splits what is left after the fixed ones; the % add up to at most 100 and whatever is not split stays free. The window shows an example with the points of the next reset. When the character reaches the level, the reset happens by itself and the points are placed. /reset auto in the chat no longer exists. The Dark Lord's Command is cumulative and does not change on reset.
If you're short on level or Zen, the game shows on screen how much is required and nothing is charged. You don't need to take your items off to Reset.
Required level
The level you need goes up with the number of resets you've done. The Premium account requires a lower level than the Free account for a good part of the way.
| Resets you already have | Level on the Free account | Level on the Premium account |
|---|---|---|
| 0 a 10 | 300 | 300 |
| 11 a 15 | 325 | 300 |
| 16 a 20 | 325 | 325 |
| 21 a 30 | 350 | 325 |
| 31 a 35 | 350 | 350 |
| 36 a 50 | 375 | 350 |
| 51 a 80 | 375 | 375 |
| 81 a 140 | 400 | 375 |
| 141 a 199 | 400 | 400 |
How much each reset costs
The cost goes up over the first 50 resets and then stays fixed. The Premium account pays less in almost every range.
| Resets you already have | Zen on a Free account | Zen on a Premium account |
|---|---|---|
| 0 a 10 | 2,000,000 | 2,000,000 |
| 11 a 15 | 10,000,000 | 2,000,000 |
| 16 a 20 | 10,000,000 | 8,000,000 |
| 21 a 30 | 25,000,000 | 8,000,000 |
| 31 a 35 | 25,000,000 | 20,000,000 |
| 36 a 50 | 30,000,000 | 20,000,000 |
| 51 a 199 | 30,000,000 | 25,000,000 |
Points you earn
On every reset, your attributes go back to the class starting values and you get back all the points you are entitled to: the points from your total resets, plus those from quests and from fruits you have already used, on top of the normal points for each level you gain after the reset.
| Account | Points per reset | When it hits the cap |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 365 | 73,000 points at 200 resets |
| Premium | 487 (up to the 100th reset), 486 (101st to 150th) and +10 (151st to 200th) | 73,000 points at 150 resets and 73,500 at 200 |
Reset points are summed from all the resets you have done, so the total grows with each reset and the character receives everything again after each one. The Magic Gladiator receives about 27% more than the other classes: 465 points per reset on the Free account, instead of 365.
| Class | Cap on the Free account | Cap on the Premium account |
|---|---|---|
| All classes, except the Magic Gladiator | 73,000 | 73,500 |
| Magic Gladiator | 93,000 | 93,637 |
| Dark Lord Command (DL) | 32,500 | 32,500 |
- A Free account reaches 73,000 points at 200 resets. Premium reaches 73,000 at 150 resets.
- From reset 151 to 200, the Premium account earns 10 more points per reset: that's 500 extra in the end, without changing anything in the Castle Siege.
- The Dark Lord's Command grows with your resets and reaches 32,500 on the same reset where the points are complete: the 200th on the Free account and the 150th on Premium. It does not come out of the reset points and /redistribuir does not touch it.
- The CS Character is born with the points of a Free character at 200 resets: 75,484 to distribute (75,863 on the Dark Lord, which also comes with Leadership 32,500).
Level and quest points
- Dark Wizard, Dark Knight and Fairy Elf gain 5 points per level, and 6 after the second class. Magic Gladiator and Dark Lord gain 7 per level from the start.
- Sebina's two quests give +10 and +10 (for Dark Wizard, Dark Knight and Elf), and Apostle Devin's three quests give +20, +20 and +30.
- The fruit points you have already used also come back to you to redistribute.
What resets and what stays
| Resets or changes | Stays the same |
|---|---|
| Level goes back to 1 | Items on your body and in your inventory |
| Attributes go back to the class defaults | Skills you've already learned |
| Reset Zen is deducted | Quests done and the evolved class |
| Points are rebuilt and you distribute them again | Reset counter, which goes up by 1 on each reset |
| The character is taken to a town | Fruit points already used come back to you to redistribute |
Reset limit
Upon reaching 200 resets, the game will not let you reset again. On both accounts the limit is the same, and the points cap has already been reached before it or exactly at it.
General server rule: point-based reset with a limit of 200. At each reset the attributes go back to the class's, and the points add up by the number of resets.
Quick tips
- Set aside the reset zen before you start leveling. Without it the NPC does not reset.
- With Premium you reset at a lower level for a good part of the way and pay less Zen per reset.
