Classes and evolution

Which classes you can create, how many points each one starts with, how much it gains per level and how to do the evolution quests.

Classes you can create

On MU Unit you pick your class when you create the character. Each class has its own way of fighting and evolves twice: the second class and the third class. The abbreviations below appear on several guide pages.

ClassAcronymThird class (final)
Dark WizardDWGrand Master
Dark KnightDKBlade Master
Fairy ElfFEHigh Elf
Magic GladiatorMGDuel Master
Dark LordDLLord Emperor

Summoner and Rage Fighter are not available for creation on the server. Only the five classes in the table can be created.

Dark Wizard, Dark Knight and Fairy Elf do the second class quest with Sebina and then the third class quests. Magic Gladiator and Dark Lord skip Sebina's quests and Marlon's: their evolution is the three third class quests.

How to create each class

  1. Download and install the game from the download page and log in with your account.
  2. On the character selection screen, click create.
  3. Choose the class, type the name and confirm.
ClassWhat you need to create one
Dark WizardNothing. It's unlocked from the start.
Dark KnightNothing. It's unlocked from the start.
Fairy ElfNothing. It's unlocked from the start.
Magic GladiatorNothing. Unlocked from your first character, with no minimum level.
Dark LordNothing. Unlocked from your first character, with no minimum level.

There's no level or old-character requirement for Magic Gladiator and Dark Lord. It applies to Free and Premium.

Starting attributes

Every new character starts with these values. Strength (STR) gives damage to melee classes, agility (AGI) helps with defense and attack speed, vitality (VIT) increases life and energy (ENE) increases mana and magic damage. Command (CMD) only exists for the Dark Lord.

Dark Knight28202510-
Fairy Elf22252015-

When you reset, the attributes go back to these class values and the free points are handed out again. See the details on the reset page.

Points per level

Every level you gain gives you points to spend on your stats. How many depends on your class and on whether you already have your second class.

ClassPoints per levelWith the second class
Dark Wizard56
Dark Knight56
Fairy Elf56
Magic Gladiator77
Dark Lord77
  • Dark Wizard, Dark Knight and Fairy Elf get 5 points per level and start getting 6 as soon as they get their second class from Sebina. The third class does not change this number.
  • Magic Gladiator and Dark Lord get 7 points per level from the start. They don't do Sebina's quests, so this number never changes.
  • When you get your second class, you receive 1 point for every level you have already gained, all at once.

To spend your points, use the attribute commands in chat: /f (strength), /a (agility), /v (vitality), /e (energy) and /c (command, Dark Lord only). Example: /f 50 puts 50 points into strength.

Evolution quests

The evolution quests give you the second and third class, extra points to spend and some perks. To hand in each quest you pay an amount in zen, which is taken from you on completion, and bring the requested items or kill the requested monsters.

StageLevelWhat it gives
Sebina, quest 1150+10 points
Sebina, quest 2150+10 points and the second class
Marlon220Extra points per level, plus 1 point per level from here on
Marlon, the Dark Knight's extra quest220Unlocks the combo
Third class, quest 1380+20 points
Third class, quest 2400+20 points
Third class, quest 3400+30 points and the third class

The CS Character doesn't level up and can't evolve or change class. If you want to evolve, use a normal character.

Second class: Sebina

Sebina the Priest is in Devias. It applies to Dark Wizard, Dark Knight and Fairy Elf, from level 150. There are two quests in sequence: you must finish the first to get the second.

QuestPayment in zenRequired itemReward
11,000,0001 Scroll of the Emperor, dropped by monsters like the ones in Dungeon, Lost Tower, Atlans and Kalima 3+10 points
22,000,0001 item for your class, dropped by monsters like the ones in Lost Tower, Atlans and Kalima 4+10 points and the second class
ClassQuest 2 item
Dark WizardSoul Shard of Wizard
Dark KnightBroken Sword
Fairy ElfTear of Elf
  • Accept the quest from Sebina and then go hunting. The item drops on the ground when you kill a monster in the given level range, as long as you do not have the item yet.
  • Return to Sebina with the item and the Zen to receive the reward.

Marlon's Quest

Marlon's quest requires level 220 and only unlocks once you already have the second class. It applies to Dark Wizard, Dark Knight and Fairy Elf. You pay 3,000,000 zen and hand in another Scroll of the Emperor, this time +1, dropped by monsters like the ones in Tarkan, Icarus, Land of Trials and Kalima 5.

Marlon does not stay put: he moves every 30 minutes between Lorencia (133, 123), Devias (205, 47), Noria (177, 111) and Atlans (17, 25). If he is not where you are looking, wait for the move or go to the next spot.

  • The Fairy Elf gets the Infinity Arrow skill.
  • Infinity Arrow stays on until the character dies, leaves the game or disconnects. Changing rooms does not remove it.

Extra Dark Knight quest: after Marlon, the Dark Knight has one more quest, at level 220. You pay 2,000,000 zen and hand in a Broken Sword +1, dropped by monsters like the ones in Tarkan, Icarus, Land of Trials and Kalima 5. When you finish, the combo is unlocked for your Dark Knight.

This extra quest is required for the Dark Knight to move on to the third class.

Third class: Apostle Devin

The final three quests are with Apostle Devin, who is in Crywolf. To get there use /move Crywolf, which requires level 250 and costs 10,000,000 zen. They apply to all five classes.

QuestLevelPayment in zenWhat to hand inReward

24007,000,000Kill 20 Balram, 20 Death Spirit and 20 Soram+20 points
340010,000,000Kill 1 Dark Elf+30 points and the third class
Quest 1 itemMonsterWhere to hunt
Death-beam Knight FlameDeath Beam KnightTarkan, in the spot from x 151 to 173 and y 194 to 226
Hell-Miner HornHell MaineEnd of Aida, in the Hell Maine lair (x 122 to 138, y 220 to 238): several Hell Maines, which come back shortly after dying
Dark Phoenix FeatherPhoenix of DarknessIcarus, near x 38, y 211

Hell Maine is a regular monster at the end of Aida, not a boss: there is no schedule, just go to the lair. To enter Icarus (and the Maya event, in Kanturu 3) you need one of these equipped: wings, cape, Dinorant, Fenrir or Dark Horse. Inside Icarus you cannot remove your flight gear, the Dark Horse included.

  • Dark Wizard and Fairy Elf must have finished Marlon's quest.
  • Dark Knight must have finished Marlon's quest and the extra combo quest.
  • Magic Gladiator and Dark Lord don't need any quest first: level 380 is all it takes to start.
  • To start Devin's first quest you need 150 resets. Anyone who already finished it or is in the middle of it continues normally.
  • Quests 2 and 3 only open after you finish the previous one.
  • If a quest NPC cannot help you, it opens the window and shows what is missing: previous quest, level, resets or class.
  • Each item drops from the listed monster while you still don't have it. It goes to whoever dealt the most damage to the monster, or to someone in that player's party who is on the same quest.
  • The monsters Balram, Death Spirit, Soram and Dark Elf are in the Barracks and Refuge maps, which are not in the /move list. These maps only open for those doing the quest.
  • Killing the Dark Elf counts toward the 3rd quest, and whoever lands the last hit on it gets 1 Condor Flame.

All together, the quests give 10 + 10 points with Sebina and 20 + 20 + 30 points for the third class, plus the extra point per level that comes with the second class.

What applies today for each class

ClassWhat applies today
Dark KnightThe combo is now easier to fit. It is still unlocked only after Marlon's extra quest.
Dark WizardMana Shield absorbs a good part of the damage, and absorbs more the more Agility and Energy you have. It uses a bit of mana on each hit. The more Energy, the longer it lasts: with high Energy, it stays on for several minutes. Ice Storm is Soul Master only.
Fairy ElfInfinity Arrow stays on until the character dies or relogs, and is not lost when changing rooms. Arrows hit reliably with high agility.
Magic GladiatorSword skills (Fire Slash, Power Slash, Spiral Slash, Twisting Slash and the others) have boosted damage. The character window (C) shows the real value. The Magic Gladiator doesn't learn Ice Storm.
Dark LordThe Dark Lord's summon takes the PK to any map. In the Castle Siege, only the Alliance Master and the Dark Lord Guild Masters use Remove All.

In Auto UP, the Buffs tab re-applies on its own the Soul Master's Mana Shield, the Blade Knight's Swell Life, the Dark Lord's Critical Damage and the Elf's attack, defense and Infinity Arrow.
